Beko plc’s parent company, ranked 57th on Corporate Knights The Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations Ranking of 2022

Beko plc’s parent company, Arçelik has been recognised in Corporate Knights ‘The Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations Ranking’, earning the 57th spot for 2022.

At Beko Plc, we believe that healthy living is only possible on a healthy planet and we are committed to developing appliances that actively work to reduce energy consumption and waste. As a company, we are continuing to invest in renewable energy to protect our environment in the decades to come.

Our sustainability ethos reflects the values of our parent company, Arçelik, who showcase their commitment to our planet and stakeholders in line with their “Respecting the World, Respected Worldwide” vision. In 2019 and 2020, Arçelik became carbon-neutral in their global operations, and as a company they are now setting their sights on higher targets, aiming to achieve net-zero emissions across their entire value chain by 2050.

Thanks to these efforts, Arçelik continues to be highly praised by the world’s most prestigious awarding bodies and we are delighted to announce that Arçelik has achieved the 57th spot in the Corporate Knights ‘The Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations Ranking’ for 2022.

Since 2005, the ‘Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations in the World’ list has recognised companies that are leading the race to zero emissions, whilst also delivering superior financial performance. The aim of the Global 100 is to celebrate world leaders in corporate sustainability, raising awareness of those that have been able to balance environmental, social, and economic performance while also delivering superior returns to investors.

This recognition follows a year that saw Arçelik take great strides in achieving its sustainability commitments. In 2021, Arçelik received His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales’ Terra Carta Seal during COP26 in Glasgow, in recognition of their commitment to creating a sustainable future as a company. In addition to this, the company also achieved the highest score within the DHP Household Durables sector in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) for the third consecutive year and CEO, Hakan Bulgurlu joined The World Economic Forum Alliance of CEO Climate Leaders; a group of 70 global chief executives that are driving cross-sector collaboration to accelerate the transition to a net-zero economy.

Commenting on the Global 100 Index, Arçelik CEO Hakan Bulgurlu said:

“We are delighted to rank on the Corporate Knights' 2022 Global 100 Index. As a business we understand that we have a commitment and a responsibility to sustainability and this recognition continues to spur us on. At Arçelik, we’ve taken great steps on our sustainability journey and are continuing to. We are proud of what we have achieved with all our employees, and our revised commitments to Scope 1, 2 and 3 GHG emissions are a demonstration of that.”

Hakan Bulgurlu, CEO of Arçelik.

We are proud to see that Arçelik’s dedication to sustainability has once again been praised in this prestigious list. It is inspiring to see that Arçelik is on track to achieve the ultimate standard for sustainability and to see that our parent company has set an exemplary standard for companies in our industry to follow.
