Beko plc celebrates 10-Year charity partnership anniversary with Barnardo's

Beko plc celebrates a remarkable milestone as we commemorate the 10-year anniversary of our partnership with Barnardo's, the UK’s largest children’s charity. Throughout this decade, we have proudly donated over £425,000 to support children, young people, and families across the UK, making a lasting impact on their lives.

This meaningful collaboration truly reflects Beko plc's brand purpose of helping people live healthier, better lives. Our partnership with Barnardo's has been a shining example of our commitment to making a positive difference. We are delighted to share that our donations have directly aided Barnardo's mission of supporting children, young people, and families nationwide.

Since 2014, Beko plc has donated 1,000 small and large appliances, valued at over £225,000, to families in need, and care-leavers. These essential household items, including vacuums, irons, microwaves, kettles, and toasters, have played a vital role in improving the lives of those facing financial hardships.

Our VegPledge campaign also stands out as an initiative that has captured hearts and minds. For two consecutive years, customers who purchased a HarvestFresh™ fridge freezer received up to £150 worth of free fruit and vegetables. For each customer claim received, we donated a box of fresh produce to families identified by Barnardo’s as living in poverty. Since 2021, we have pledged over 5,500 veg boxes, providing valuable assistance to families across the UK.

To support children during the festive season, our colleagues took part in Barnardo's Kidmas campaign, organising "The Great Kidmas Quiz" for three consecutive years. This initiative has not only brought joy and laughter to the team but also raised an astounding £17,500 over the past three years, helping children and families who are struggling to feel included in the magic of Christmas.

More recently, in January 2023, Beko plc responded to the pressing cost of living crisis by donating 100 small appliances to families identified by Barnardo's as in need of support. These essential household items have significantly relieved financial burdens, allowing families to focus on building a brighter future for their children.

Our dedicated employees at Beko plc have demonstrated tremendous support throughout the years, raising substantial funds through engaging activities such as bake sales, sponsored bike races, and even participating in the London Marathon. Their collective efforts have raised an impressive £32,000, making a tangible difference in the lives of children and families.

Vijay Bhardwaj, Marketing Director at Beko plc UK & Ireland, commented:

“We are incredibly proud of our decade-long partnership with Barnardo's. Together, we have made a significant impact, but our work is far from done. Beko plc is committed to continuing our support, championing the well-being and future of children and families. We are grateful for the opportunity to make a difference and look forward to the years ahead.”

With a total donation of £425,000 to date and more initiatives in the pipeline, Beko plc remains dedicated to our enduring partnership with Barnardo's. To learn more about our charitable endeavours with local communities, services, and charities, please visit our Beko Giving page.
